In 2010 the students enrolled in Dutch universities were selected to go on a six month internship to Africa, America and India. After an intensive selection procedure eight students were selected. These students received an extensive preparation at WFP headquarters in Rome in September 2010.
Subsequently, they flew to India, The Gambia, Nicaragua and Tanzania.
The internship allows the participants to employ their academic knowledge towards making a substantial impact, where it is most needed.
Besides the satisfaction of effectively helping the hungry, interns experience the complex logistics of providing food in highly volatile and challenging conditions. The interns have now ended their internships. Read their blogs!
